What is Chill Labo?

Chill Labo Akasaka is a small sake bar located on the second floor of a 100-year-old wooden house in Akasaka, Tokyo.

It is a place where you can taste many different kinds of sake little by little and discover your favorite one. From chilled sake to room-temperature sake and warm sake, we will help you find a drink that suits your taste from more than 100 selections.

Enjoy a relaxed evening with great sake and good conversation.

Chill Labo first opened in Kichijoji in 2019, later moved to Ogikubo, and relocated to Akasaka on July 10, 2021.

How the Tasting Works

1. Tell us what kind of drink you like, or what you usually drink.
Wine, whisky, beer, sweet drinks — anything is fine.
2. We will serve your first glass based on your taste.
3. You can taste sake little by little.
The all-you-can-taste plan is ¥3,300 per hour, and extensions are ¥1,100. Extensions are automatic, so please be aware. The plan includes more than 100 kinds of sake, including room-temperature and warmed sake, as well as shochu from around Japan, beer, and soft drinks.
4. Food
Our signature dish is oden, made with dashi prepared daily by our chef, who used to run an oden restaurant in Kichijoji. Available Monday to Friday. Our assorted appetizers are also popular.
Please refrain from bringing outside food.

5. Table charge
There is no table charge when using the all-you-can-taste plan. For à la carte orders only, a table charge of ¥550 per person applies.

We are generally open on public holidays. Hours may change during the New Year holidays, so please check Google Maps or Instagram for the latest updates.

Reservations
Walk-ins are welcome if seats are available.
Reservations can be made by Instagram DM at @CHILLLABOTOKYO or by phone. For groups of three or more on Fridays, we recommend making a reservation.
Solo guests are very welcome.
Payment
Cash, major credit cards, and PayPay are accepted.
Smoking
No smoking inside. There is a smoking area outside.

Is it okay if I don’t know much about sake?

Absolutely. Beginners are very welcome. Just tell us what you usually drink, and we will guide you little by little based on your taste.

Do you speak English?

Yes. English-speaking staff are available, and some menu notes are also available in English.

Do I need a reservation?

Walk-ins are welcome if seats are available. Reservations can be made by Instagram DM at @CHILLLABOTOKYO or by phone. For groups of three or more on Fridays, we recommend making a reservation. Solo guests are very welcome.

Can I come alone?

Of course. The counter seats are also comfortable for solo guests.

How much does it cost?

The all-you-can-taste sake plan is ¥3,300 per hour. Extensions are ¥1,100, and the 4-hour course is ¥6,600. Extensions are automatic. There is no table charge for the all-you-can-taste plan. For à la carte orders only, a table charge of ¥550 per person applies.

Do you serve food?

We always have a variety of dishes available.Our signature dish is oden, made with dashi prepared fresh every day by our chef, who previously ran an oden restaurant in Kichijoji. Oden is available Monday to Friday.
Not sure what to order first? We recommend starting with the assorted appetizer plate. *Please refrain from bringing outside food.

Can I smoke?

Smoking is not allowed inside. There is a smoking area outside.
